How to Cook with CBD and CBG Oils

Three healthy recipes to make CBD and CBG edibles at home

From tinctures and vapes to topicals and beverages, you have multiple options to get your daily dose of CBD and CBG. But perhaps you haven’t found your favorite method, or you’re looking to switch up your routine. Tinctures are effective, but you might want a break from the earthy taste of oils. Vapes work fast, but you might not want to smoke every day. Topicals are healing, but you might not have skin issues to address. You may wish for a new way to consume CBD and CBG so you can easily create a consistent, healthy habit.

Fortunately, eating cannabinoids is a great way to reap their benefits. Plus, they’re delicious! And the best part? You can easily make CBD and CBG treats at home!

The Benefits of CBD and CBG Edibles

Discretion

Hemp is 100% legal, but perhaps your friends and family haven’t quite caught up with the times. If that’s the case, you may want a more discreet way to get your daily dose of CBD and CBG. Edibles are the perfect method to consume hemp extracts because they never leave harsh smoke or conspicuous packaging behind.

Health

CBD has exploded in popularity over the last few years due to its therapeutic potential and widespread availability. Some people report using CBD as an alternative to pharmaceuticals with adverse side effects. CBD can help counter tight muscles and aching joints, promote a good night’s sleep, foster a healthy digestive system, and so much more!

Early research on CBG shows this fantastic cannabinoid packs just as many health-promoting properties as CBD. CBG can help promote healthy skin, eyes, and brain and boost healthy bone growth. And like CBD, CBG is a known anti-inflammatory.

Both CBD and CBG are non-psychoactive–which means that they don’t alter your state of mind in ways that inhibit your clarity and function. But studies show that they can promote an uplifting mood and overall feelings of wellbeing.

Physiological Effects

You can use Medical Mike’s cannabis oils and salves in three ways: topically, sublingually, or through digestion. Every method is valuable. Every technique is unique. But only edibles deliver long-lasting results.

When you apply oils or salves topically, you place the product on your skin directly to a specific area of focus. The cannabinoids absorb through your skin and provide localized relief from soreness and irritation. Even though topical CBD and CBG never reach your bloodstream, they can interact with receptors at the application site to provide relief.

When you hold CBD and CBG oils under your tongue (sublingually), they absorb rapidly into the bloodstream and begin working fast. That is a huge benefit, especially if you’re in a rush. But you typically won’t feel effects as long or as intense as with digestion.

When you digest cannabinoids via edibles, you wait longer for them to kick in because they must first pass through your liver before entering the bloodstream. But once your body processes CBD and CBG edibles, you may feel the effects more intensely in the body. Moreover, you may feel the effects much longer, so you don’t need to re-dose as often.

Control

With so many edibles available to buy, you might be wondering why you should bother making your own. The most significant benefit of cooking with CBG and CBD oils is control! You have total reign over the flavor, ingredients, and concentration. You can make whatever you want, the way you want it to taste and feel! And you don’t need to be an expert in the kitchen to get started.
